About

The Artist Projects of Los Angeles (TAP/LA) was a 501(c)3 nonprofit arts organization founded in 2015 by Lexa Safran in response to the disconnect between Angelenos and the community of working artists throughout the city. The principal mission was to provide unrestricted artists grants for local artists. These grants were supported by TAP/LA’s board of directors and collectors’ group which met for intimate salons in private homes and after-hours galleries through LA to raise funds and discuss the various aspects of building a personal collection. Within one year, TAP/LA funded seven $10,000 unrestricted artists grants and an educational fellowship for emerging artists.
